Has anyone changed to a vegetarian diet since onset of CRPS, and if so, did it make any difference? I’m going to give it a try. I’ve been considering it for a while. Recent escalation of pain has motivated me to make some life changes.
This did actually help
I changed to a completely vegetarian diet at this time, and it did actually help. Most proteins are inflammatory and therefore have the potential to make inflammatory pain worse. Inflammatory pain is the “burning pain” part of CRPS. Since then I have moved to a diet of 5/7 vegetarian meals a week and 2 days where I eat some type of meat, mostly chicken.
Not to be preachy, but another thing that doesn’t help inflammatory pain is alcohol. There is a lot you can do in terms of lifestyle changes that help to reduce pain. Reviewing your diet for inflammatory foods is definitely worthwhile.
